As I believe Information and Communication Technology (ICT) should be accessible to all students and teachers, I am also concerned about the equitable use of ICT in schools and homes. This use leads to the knowledge and skills individuals need to be empowered in the 21st century. Unfortunately, there are a number of dividing factors (e.g., income, race, gender, etc.) as it relates to access, use, knowledge, skills, and the dispositions of the individuals with regard to ICT. I have spent a sizable amount of time investigating these issues within formal educational settings, especially within the state of Florida.
